One of the Detroit Speed techs at the debut told me his team initially wanted to convert the Camry to rear-wheel drive and drop in a V-8 from the LS 460 or IS F, but that Detroit Speed had neither the time, nor the money to do it. Busch’s Camry was built for the Kyle Busch Foundation.

In keeping with the family theme, five Mastercraft safety seats with five-point harnesses have been installed, including a child size version on the rear hump, although you’ll probably want to make sure that it’s empty before you stage.

No word if it will ever actually hit the track, but it is in competition with other custom Toyotas from NASCAR stars Kyle Busch and Clint Boyer as well as off-road racer Alexis DeJoria on Toyota’s Facebook page, where fans can vote for their favorite and send the winner’s charity $50,000.

All four of the cars will be on display at SEMA starting Oct. 30th, which opens in Las Vegas on Oct. 30th, not far from the drag strip at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

The quality of the plastics and switchgear is better in the Suzuki. And of course, we Indians love the way the Swift looks, though aesthetics never stopped us from lining up to buy the Etios. The main factor that worked for the sedan, and now for the hatchback will be that it’s a Toyota that’s affordable.

It is easy to give a verdict at this moment that the Swift is for those who enjoy driving while the Liva is for those who want a functional, spacious, cheap Toyota. But we’ll stick our necks out on this one: we’ll go for the Swift – this one or maybe even the one that’s just around the corner!
