Ferrari 458 Italia Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series in 2012; The Ferrari 458 Italy will soon be proudly displayed on the slopes of American motor racing. The Italian manufacturer is in fact working hard to Ferrari 458 Italy Grand Am, with the goal of bringing in the race already in the Grand Am Rolex Sports Car Series in 2012. The race car is based on the European version of the Ferrari 458 GT3 Italy. The car that will take part in sport series in the U.S. is currently under development with the company Michelotto Cars: The track debut took place last Monday at the Fiorano circuit.
The Italian manufacturer’s home track is currently used for testing of new car racing lap. Monday they were made about 50. Once transferred to the car drivers in America, Jaime Melo and Toni Vilander will take turns on the track at Daytona the next 26 and July 27 for further sessions.
Compared to the European model of the Ferrari 458 Italy Grand Am has some differences, including more powerful V8 engine of around 500 hp, special anti-roll bar and brakes designed to compensate for the lack of ABS and traction control. The tires will be offered by Continental, the sole supplier for this series of races.
For Ferrari it is a return on a circuit that has seen the house of Maranello involved in some important victories in the ’60s and ’70s. Ferrari 458 in Italy is a road version of the best supercars in recent years, both as aesthetic and as a performance.
