2012 Mercedes-Benz M Class Details Release date ; the brand new 2012 Mercedes- Benz M Class were leaked yesterday, today the German carmaker released the first official details and photos of the their upcoming SUV, which is scheduled to make its official debut later this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show in Germany.
Looking at the car’s exterior, what everyone loved about it was that while it’s a significant redesign, it keeps the same silhouette and you can instantly recognize the car as an M Class. Among the restyled elements we can count the tail lights and headlights, which now feature LED daytime running lights, the entire front fascia was modified and the alloy wheels are available in sizes ranging from 17 to 21-inch.
While the current generation features high quality materials and features, the new 2012 Mercedes-Benz M Class takes luxury even further: the dashboard is inspired from the company’s current flagship, the S Class, premium materials are used all over the interior, aluminum or wood trims are available and as an option customers can choose a large panoramic sunroof.
Under the bonnet, the new M Class will be available with three engine choices. The entry-level version will be the ML250 Bluetec, powered by a 2.1-liter four-cylinder diesel that delivers 201-hp and 369 lb-ft of torque. The second option is also powered by a diesel, the 3.0-liter V-6 from the ML350 Bluetec producing 254-hp and 457 lb-ft maximum torque, having an estimated 0 to 62 mph acceleration of 7.5 seconds. The third option is the ML350 BlueEFFICIENCY, powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 petrol engine that has a power output of 302-hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. The United States will only get the ML350 models, the Bluetec and the BlueEFFICIENCY. All versions will come with a seven-speed 7G-Tronic Plus automatic transmission and 4Matic all-wheel-drive.
As for the technologies available, the 2012 M Class will come with all the goodies the German carmaker has to offer, including Distronic Plus, Speed Limit Assist, Night View Assist Plus with pedestrian recognition, Lane Keeping Assist, Active Park Assist, Blind Spot Assist, Active Curve System with dynamic roll stabilization and Airmatic self-leveling air suspension.
So far, no word about when the 2012 Mercedes-Benz M-Class will go on sale and how much will it cost, but we’re guessing Mercedes will release these info closer to the launch date.
