The Hero Impulse has been previewed by some of the media publications at the Hero Honda Gurgaon facility and the official launch announcement and delivery date is expected soon as Diwali is just around the corner. We expect the on road price to be around Rs. 75,000 which seems to be a good price for a dirt bike with a fuel efficient 150 CC Engine with all the elements of a dirt bike with decent quality. It comes with a standard service package with 3 years/40000 Kms warranty period along with 6 free service benefits up to 560 day.
Hero Impulse is also available in Brazil in a different avatar called the Honda NXR 150 Bros with same 150 CC engine but a different transmission setting. As per the initial testing reviews, the Impulse has a good ride quality, confidence inspiring handling and good grip, both on road and off-road. The engine of 150 CC which produces 13.02 BHP of power at 7500 RPM and about 13.4 Nm of torque mated well to a 5 speed transmission with short gear ratios for peppy ride.
The front suspension of the Impulse is a 150 mm travel hydraulic suspension, the large travel of the suspension helps in the off road experience and give good comfort on bad roads which we face often. The rear suspensions is a centrally mounted mono-shock shocker which is designed to take the beating an off road ride can give the Impulse and does it well. The rear shocker is gas charged (nitrox-gas) under high pressure to take on this load. There are chain stopping guards around the chain sprockets to prevent the chain from going off on shaky terrains, there are knuckle guards on the handle bar to prevent dirt and mud from sticking to hands, there is high ground clearance, low reclining swing arm which keeps engine high, exhaust pipe mounted under the pillion seat to avoid mud and water entering into it while extreme off roads.
