Just like the larger CTS, the ATS also will offer three models; those are sedan, coupe and wagon body styles. However, a convertible version will be available from its Euro rival.
GM’s turbocharged 2.0L engine mounted with an eight-speed automatic transmission will empower the entry- level ATS, producing output at 270 hp. Those eight- speed automatic also will help the 2.0 ATS to deliver 22/ 32 mpg of fuel consumption.
The ATS will also be available with 3.6L engine as the top level, producing 330 hp and 280 lb-ft of torque. Just like the 2.0L, this engine also will be coupled to an eight-speed gearbox which figures fuel economy at 20/ 30 mpg.
It is said that in july 2012, Cadillac will start the production of the ATS, preceded by the production of coupe version in July 2013
